Pastoral Vacancy
Pastor Richard Brosseau has retired from the ministry after 40 years as a missionary and pastor, the last ten years serving at Grace Baptist Church in Citrus Springs. We will miss him and his lovely wife Hae Ja.
The Pulpit Committee is presently considering applications from independent Baptist men to fill the pastoral vacancy. Any candidate must be in complete agreement with our doctrinal statement, which may be found by clinking on the link on the page "What We Believe".
As stated in the Church Constitution:
"A candidate for the pastorate shall be a Baptist man who has been examined by the pulpit committee as to his salvation, doctrine, Christian conduct and call to the ministry. He must fulfill the requirements of 1Timothy 3:1-7; 2 Timothy 4:1-2, 5; Titus 1:6-9; and his wife must be in accord with him.
"If he has served in other churches. his ministry there should be explored. In addition, the church should require a background check and a credit check on each candidate.
"He shall be required to state his acceptance of and adherence to the Articles of Faith, the Church Covenant, and the Constitution of the church, including the position of complete ecclesiastical separation from apostasy, theological liberalism, and the charismatic movement.
"Any differences which he holds concerning these documents should be submitted to the pulpit committee in writing. He must state willingness to work within the framework of the constitution at all times. He shall also state in writing any differences which he holds relating to groups and associations with which this church is in fellowship. He shall also list any groups with which he is in fellowship. The pulpit committee shall present only one man at a time for the consideration and vote of the church.
"The Pastor shall have spiritual oversight of the church; he shall preach the gospel, teach the Word, and have charge of the public services and educational ministries of the church; he shall administer the ordinances and perform the usual duties of a Baptist minister. The Pastor shall be an ex-officio member of all boards and committees."
